Room tells the extraordinary story of a five year old boy, Jack, and his devoted mother, Joy. They have been captive for seven years in a ten by ten square feet room. Joy wants to keep Jack happy and safe. So, she makes up an ideal world for Jack in this room. She tells Jack the Room is the whole universe, and everything outside is unreal. But as Jack grows up, his curiosity about their situation grows, and Joy’s resilience reaches its breaking point. She thinks it is time to tell Jack the truth. They make a risky plan to escape. Jack finally can experience the real world for the first time.
